Best. Clip. Ever.

I have to be honest. I didn’t think this would be the post that would bring me back from almost two weeks of inactivity on the blog. But this is absolutely worth it, because the video below is the best YouTube clip I’ve ever seen!

The Forty-Fourth President
Len on November 5, 2008 at 12:18 am
As the results are now in, we now know that Senator Barack Obama has indeed won the race for the Presidency of the United States of America.
Whether you supported Senator McCain or Senator Obama, today is a good day for America, as it has once again demonstrated the strength of a democratically elected government. Additionally, the events of today serve as a segue into the next chapter of our nation’s history.
May God bless President-Elect Barack Obama with wisdom, clarity of mind, and physical protection as he prepares to take office in January. Amen.

The Forty-Fourth White President?
Len on November 4, 2008 at 9:18 pm
As I sit here listening to the Presidential Election results roll in tonight, I am struck by the fact that this will be a historic outcome, regardless of what happens.
On the Republican side, we all know that John McCain, if elected, will be the oldest person to become President. That would also cause Sarah Palin to be the first female Vice-President in our nation’s history.
On the Democratic side, did you know Joe Biden would be the first Roman Catholic Vice-President? Yep, it’s true. And Barack Obama would be the forty-fourth white President of the United States.
Wait, what?

Apple on Prop 8
Len on November 4, 2008 at 11:18 am
While many Americans will head to the polls today to decide the identity of the next resident of the White House, voters in California will also have an opportunity to weigh in on a proposal to amend the state constitution. If Proposition 8 is passed, it will remove the option of same-gender couples from marrying in the state.
Now, I’m not from California, so Prop 8 isn’t likely to affect me directly. However, I am a huge fan of technology created by Apple, so when the company posted this statement on their Hot News feed, I took notice:
Apple is publicly opposing Proposition 8 and making a donation of $100,000 to the No on 8 campaign. Apple was among the first California companies to offer equal rights and benefits to our employees’ same-sex partners, and we strongly believe that a person’s fundamental rights — including the right to marry — should not be affected by their sexual orientation. Apple views this as a civil rights issue, rather than just a political issue, and is therefore speaking out publicly against Proposition 8.
That surprised me… kind of. And it disappointed me too, though not enough to flip out and boycott, as I am sure some of my well-meaning Christian brothers and sisters will do. The company still makes some great stuff and I’ll gladly pay my “Apple Tax”.
[sarcasm] However, maybe they should go back to the old rainbow logo? [/sarcasm]

Slamball
Len on November 4, 2008 at 8:18 am
On Sunday night I caught the championship game for the 2008 Season of Slamball. What is Slamball? It’s a newer sport that is an insane cross between Basketball, Football, Hockey, and Gymnastics.
I’m still trying to figure out if I love it, or if it’s just too gimmicky. Either way, one thing is for sure: you’ve got to be in mad good shape to handle all that bouncing around. Check out the video below for a few shots of the action, or head to slamball.net to find out more.
